Why should I choose Dogipot® oxo-biodegradable bags?
Dogipot introduced the new and improved oxo-biodegradable litter pick up bags in an effort to further increase the environmental friendliness of its products. Dogipot® constantly strives to improves its products and this is a great step in that direction. Oxo-biodegradable Dogipot® litter pick up bags include a new additive which allows the bags to break down first by oxidation (i.e., exposure to air). The oxidation causes the bags to flake and fragment into small pieces that then biodegrade. Dogipot® determined this new formula significantly enhances the degradability of its bags based on the actual disposal method that is used in the market. This formula is also designed to meet US Standard Guide ASTM D6954-04 for oxo-biodegradable degradation. Dogipot® litter pick up dog waste bags contain some recycled material. The new bags no longer contain a corn starch additive and the new formula does not utilize any food-based films. This new formula avoids the "corn controversy" issues many bag and other product companies which use renewable source products must answer to. Massive deforestation of land, rain forests and wetlands to grow "product crops" is causing enormous carbon emissions from stored carbon in this land and increasing pesticide and fertilizer pollution in waterways. Farmers are shifting food crops for people and livestock to product crops, which contributes to world food shortages and increases in world food prices.

What distinguishes Dogipot® oxo-biodegradable litter bags from other biodegradable bags? Aren't all biodegradable bags equally environmentally friendly?
Pure biodegradable/hydro-biodegradable bags may emit methane in a landfill in some circumstances. Oxo-biodegradable Dogipot® litter pick up bags will not emit any methane. Oxo-biodegradable bags degrade into CO2, water and biomass releasing less CO2 than a leaf. Biodegradable bags can only be manufactured from pure material, not recycled material like our oxo-biodegradable bags. Our bags will degrade in all places biodegradable bags will degrade, including compost environment, however, the reverse is not the case for all biodegradable bags. Our bags do not need a biologically active environment to begin degrading.
